Well that’s summer out of the way.

Today in this neck of the globe it’s the first day of autumn.

I am not really sure where summer has gone to be honest, certainly it can be described as being average.

No mention this year of hose pipe bans and low levels of water. Which compared to the last few years has made a change!

Mornings now have a bit of a nip in the air, Sue my wife made the comment yesterday that you put a coat on to go to work but don’t need it by lunch time. I am sure that will change over the next few weeks. It’s that time of the year when you can just start putting on a sweater rather than turning the heating on. Looking out of the window here in the office I can see light clouds and all round not a bad day at all.

Here to mark the start of autumn is my favourite picture I took since the start of the year.

A nice tranquil picture of the River Nene at Orton Staunch looking westwards.
